Would you like to know God’s will for your life? How to discern God’s will for very important decisions of our life, such as marriage and career? Here are some of the simple bible based steps to find God’s will and purpose for your life. It provides practical steps in discovering God’s will for your life.
We must make Jesus our Lord and be genuinely willing to seek him. (Romans 12:1-2, Mat 6:33) This is the first step. There is no other alternative! We should be willing to respond as God would in any given situation. (Psalm 25:10) We should be ready to learn. (Psalm 25:9) We must spend time in his words daily. This is the most simple and powerful, yet most forgotten fact. Study the bible, not just read it. We should listen to God in prayer (Prov 8:34), not just giving a list of things, we need. So often, we are so much focused on what we need, that we miss what God wants from us!
We should completely trust God and his plans for our life. (Prov 3:5-6) Someone has said, “How can you make God laugh?”, “Tell him your plans!” It is not to say, that you should not make any plans at all, but to seek his ways first. We should have clean and pure heart. (Psalm 66:18, 1 John 1:9) We should expect him to reply. God wants to speak to us, so Pay attention! We should fear the Lord, this means hating evil and living God’s way. (Prov 8:13, Prov 9:10), it is harder to do what we hate. Fasting can also immensely help. It helps us to focus our mindon God. (Mat 6: 16-18)
These are the basic principles for preparing yourself to see his will for your life. But how about a specific decisions, like career, marriage, finances etc? There are three steps in finding God’s will for a specific decisions.
1) God’s Word
2) Circumstances
3) Inner Peace
You can verify your decision with confirmation of word of God, the circumstances and the inner peace that you may get. Now, God is not going to tell you the name of the person you are going to marry, or the name of the company you are going to work with. But, if you sincerely seek his will, he will surely give you assurance about your decisions.

Iam a 48 year old female, who is in a relationship with a 60 year old. We have been dating for 4 months and because the both of us have been without a mate for at least 4years for me and 2 for him because his wife passed but my husband past in 1995. We are becomming more affectionate just with cudddling and kissing and the kisses are beginning to show real feelings. How do we keep from comming involved. Should we eliminate the affection or put a distance to us seeing one another. I don’t want to get in trouble with god because i love this man
