Trying to pick out a birthday gift for a boy can be somewhat overwhelming with all the electronics, action figures, and video games. An easy gift to find that are still cool in the eyes of little boys are sports cards. There is a wide array of different types of cards, even football cards. Though finding a gift can be a pain, planning a birthday party for a young boy can be more stressful.
Sending out invitations to the party with your son or brother (or whoever the boy is that you are planning the party for) can be kind of difficult. During elementary school years, there is a lot of pressure on kids to invite people so their classmates do not feel offended if they are not invited. To prevent your son or brother from upsetting anyone at school, you could potentially invite his entire class. However, inviting an entire class could end up being too many people and cost too much money. If you do end up having your son or brother invite only his close friends, it is a good idea to contact their parents about not talking about the party at school.
The next step is to think about if you want to do a themed party. If he has a hobby he is especially interested in, you could plan the party around that. One easy option for a party is to base it on his favorite sports. To do a large extravagant sports party, you could rent out a sports complex to let them play the party. If he is more interested in something like music, magic, or a popular cartoon, you could interview performers to possibly perform at the party.
Another thing to think about when planning a party is what you want to do about food for the guests. It’s usually easiest to buy a selection of snacks and candy and put them out in bowls for the kids to eat throughout the day. Then later in the night, you could always order pizza for an actual meal. Birthday cakes are a must have and an excuse to be a little creative. You could order a cake decorated to match the theme of the party or with a picture of the birthday boy on it. Another option is to cook the cake yourself which might be more difficult but allows you to be creative. They sell molds for different interesting shaped cakes and there is a lot of information online about how to bake fun cakes for birthdays.
Another aspect to consider when planning a birthday party is putting together gift bags for all the guests. An easy way to do gift bags is to go to the dollar store to find fun little toys and candy. A fun idea is to get little disposable cameras for each of the kids who attend the party. That way they can all take home photos from the party. To add to the cameras as a party favor you could give them each a little photo album or have them make little frames for the photos they take.
