Many Americans love to go camping. It is the type of family outing that people have enjoyed for many, decades. Especially today when many people are struggling financially, it is a way to take your family on a vacation and one that will provide everyone with fantastic memories. The best camping trips result from those people that prepare the best. There are several things to think of ahead of time such as the different types of rain gear in the event of inclement weather or to have a First aid kit or First aid kits available in case someone getshurt. These are all things that will be mentioned in this article.
The initial thing to decide is what type of camper are you? Do you want to camp with a RV or is a tent what youlike? Once that is decided, find the location of a campground that will accommodateallow either a RV hook-up or a campsite suitable for setting up a tent. Many campgrounds require reservations so plan ahead as soon as you know when you want to go camping.
Thebest way to plan what tobring camping is to sit down and make a list. Then as youpack for the trip you can just check everythingall of the items off of the list to ensure you have packed it. Put your list in different categories such as shelter, food, food related items, sleeping items, cooking and fire supplies, cleaning, and personal safety and first aid products. Write down all of the items that you can think of needing. Try to think of what you need during a usual day at home. Things such as a wash tub and dish soap are often forgotten when going camping but how else will you wash your dishes? Depending on how hardcore of a camper you are, you may either have an inflatable mattress with sheets, pillows and blankets or simply a sleeping bag on the ground will do. These are all thingsthat should be considered to make your trip a successful one. Another thing to consider is whether your campsite will be accessible by vehicle or if you have to walk there. This could really determinedecide how many things you can bring, obviously. Smart meal planning is also a smart way to camp. If you just packvarious things without planning you will be disappointed. If you arecamping with another family, choose which meals to make for the whole group then you will not have to cook or make every meal.
Besides all of the basic necessities of food, type of shelter etc, the most important thing to plan for is your safety. Always [pack|bring} one first aid kit or even several first aid kits to ensure your family can be taken care of a minor skinned knee or a possible altercation with an animal that wandered closely to your campsite. Sunburn, bug bites and poison ivy are also common while camping so pack things for that in your first aid kit.
