Playing hard to get: many women swear by it, but maybe you’ve never tried it. Should you? Perhaps it depends on whom you ask! It’s been said that high-achieving men enjoy a challenge, and are always more intrigued by women who aren’t easy to get. Some guys like a mixture of signals; being ignored one day and getting lots of attention the next. They like a bit of “push and pull,” if you will.
You probably should consider the type of personality of the man you’re pursuing. Take your dedicated businessman, a guy who spends a lot of time reducing costs and looking for efficiencies. Maybe he’s constantly on the lookout for the best deals, and uses Business coupon to keep his costs low. These aren’t always the type of guy that likes to play a lot of games. He’s focused, he’s detail-oriented, he’s busy, and probably prefers a woman clear about her intentions as much as he likes finding a cost-saving Business software coupons. It’s really a matter of the kind of guy he is.
It is the case that not all high-achievers want to spare the time it takes to engage in game-playing. Hard to get isn’t incredibly appealing, sometimes, to guys who have left their youthful 20s. In the early 20s, guys will humor a game or two. After a few years, when work gets demanding and tiring, sometimes easy to get is a little more attractive. A woman who makes her intentions clear can be very attractive.
These men like a woman unafraid of showing her interest, who exude confidence. After all, it is a delicate balance between playing hard to get and giving off an air of lack of interest. And surely, there is a delicate balance between communicating interest and looking over-eager or desperate. Perhaps, then, hard to get is a way of communicating a lack of desperation.
At the end of the day, it really comes down to considering who the man is you’re pursuing and his individual personality. If it seems doable, play a bit of hard to get, and see how it goes. Test the waters a bit, and see what sort of reaction you get. If he doesn’t respond to you, then change your strategy immediately to show more interest.
